From New York through Lisbon to Sydney

Father Stan Came to Town

F. Stan in Cascais

Every year – for more than 13 years now – a Franciscan friar from South Bronx, New York, keeps coming to Portugal, to visit and preach a retreat to his youth group – “Jovens de S. Francisco”.

Father Stan is a musician, he composes all sort of different kinds of music, such as Jazz, Folk or Rap; he sings and sells his songs all over the world to get some money in order to help his friends in Bronx, where he lives with other friars and friends that were homeless once.

He also goes all over the world to preach, sing and visit friends, specially young ones, as this time he did with us, giving his concert in our school, in June. He came earlier than usual as he was heading to Australia, to collaborate in the organization of the youth world meeting that will be held next July, in Sydney, Australia

  1. Hi Ines! (I think) I really like your blog! Sorry I didn’t get back to you for a while. So anyways… I saw the comment you left on Sarah’s blog and I just wan’t to inform you that I actually didn’t have permition from my teacher to post it so I took it off and now I’m just editing it. So ya! I really think this band has been here before. Every year we have a music fest where I live and I think I’ve seen that bang or singer. I’m really glad you like my blog, because I haven’t really been thinking it’s coming along very well. But I could be wrong. Cause I have 15 ( 2 of my own 🙁 ) comments on my chicken nuggets post which I was proud of. So on the nicer side… What are your intrests? I would really like to get to know you and and we could probably end up blogging friends like me and Sarah and Nadine and Sue Wyatt. So ya!
    See Ya!
